The Board of Directors of the Vermilion County Fair & Expo are happy to announce that we have entered into a contract with Bob & Angie Pierce to fill the position of Track Promoter at the Vermilion County Speedway.
Bob Pierce is a long time racer, and is involved in other aspects of racing as well. We are pleased that he and Angie are willing to take this step and are confident his years of experience, knowledge of the racing community and desire to see the Vermilion County Speedway succeed will enable them to accomplish their goal of making the Vermilion County Speedway “The Place to Race”.
The most recent past promoters have had to battle the difficult economy which came on the heels of skyrocketing gas prices of a couple of years ago. The Pierces are aware of the obstacles and are approaching this with determination and creativity. They plan to limit the schedule somewhat, having fifteen events. Specials include a Summer Nationals race, a $5000 to win 2-day Modified Spectacular, a $1000 to win Hornet Special, a Crate Late Model $2500 to win Special, some Monster Late Model Series and some Monster Spring Series Specials, one American Modified Series special, a $500 to win Bomber Enduro race on Fair night, and much more. Games and events are being planned for the kids in an effort to make the Speedway a fun and exciting place for the entire family.
