Hospital and
Claims for Injury
Emergency hospital and ambulance service will be provided
at all times. No claim for injury to any person or property
shall ever be asserted, no suit instituted or maintained
against the Exposition, its officers, or its agents, by
or on behalf of any person, firm or Corporation or their
agents, representatives, servants, or employees having
license or privilege to exhibit on the Fairgrounds or occupying
space thereon. If any damage, loss or injury to person
or property shall be approximately caused by reason of
neglect or willful act of any person, firm or corporation,
or their agents, representatives, servants, or employees
having license or privilege to exhibit on said Fairgrounds,
or occupying space thereon, the Exposition shall be in
no manner responsible therefore, and in case it is subject
to any expense of liability, all persons causing same or
liable thereof, shall indemnify the said Exposition. The
Exposition will not be in any way liable for any injury
to any attendant to any exhibit in all departments while
enroute to and from the Exposition.
Disqualifications
Any entry or entries considered by the judges to be in
any way undesirable, untrained, unfit or improperly “turned
out” may be disqualified from any class or from the
show. In the event of disqualification, entry fees are
forfeited.
Protest
Any exhibitor lodging a protest must first deposit $25.00
with the Secretary which sum will be forfeited to the Exposition
if protest is not sustained. All protests must be made
in writing, signed by the protestor, and must be lodged
within 48 hours after award is made. In case protest is
sustained, the entry standing next in award will be moved
up.
Filing Entries
The Fair office at the Vermilion County Fair & Expo
grounds will be open Monday, June 23, 2008 for the purpose
of correcting entries and transacting business for the
annual fair, June 23– 28, 2008. Entries must be
postmarked no later than June 14, 2005, and mailed to Vermilion
County Fair & Expo, 1729 S. Washington St., Tilton,
IL 61833. Late entries may be accepted, providing stall
space is available. All entries must be accompanied by
Registration papers or copies thereof.
All Livestock entries must be in place as follows: Sheep
and Swine must be in place by 6 P.M., Tuesday, June 24,
2008. Beef entries must be in place by 5:00 P.M., Wednesday,
June 25, 2008 unless delayed by circumstances which would
justify the extension of time by the Department Superintendent
unless regulation for their specific department states
otherwise. No livestock exhibits may be removed from the
grounds until June 28, except 4-H entries not showing in
open or junior competition or exhibits released under Department
Special Regulations. Any violation of these rules will
cost a forfeiture of all premiums by the exhibitor.
Junior Exhibitors
Junior exhibitors showing animals in the Open Show shall
be governed by Open Show rules, and shall pay the prescribed
entry fee and stall rent, and shall purchase an exhibitors
ticket.
Questions and Disputes
The Exposition reserves the right to interpret all questions
and conditions in regard to, arising out of, or incidental
to the show, without claim for damages or recourse of any
kind.
Exhibit Building Shows
Advance entries are encouraged (not required). You will
find class listing for each show in the back of the book
on tear out entry forms with instructions.
Additional Questions
All questions not covered in these rules and regulations
shall be decided by the President, whose decision shall
be final.
Payment of Premiums
Premiums will be paid by check drawn to the order of the
exhibitor for the full amount of the premium. Livestock
Show entry fees are paid with entry. Entry fees in “entry
fee paid by winners only” classes must be paid by
exhibitor prior to release of premium check. No more than
two monies will be paid in one class to one exhibitor.
Right to prorate premium is reserved. Exhibitors should
pick up premium winnings prior to leaving the Fairgrounds.
Livestock Entry Rules
All Applications for entries must be made out on printed
forms in accordance with instructions of same. Entry blanks
can be found on last page of this book. Exhibitors making
entries and not entering shall forfeit all fees of entry,
stall, pen or space.
Exhibitor’s and Helpers’ Tickets
Each exhibitor must purchase an Exhibitor’s ticket.
Livestock $6.00 Home Economics $6.00
Helper’s tickets where needed are $6.00
Liability of Exhibitors
All property of every character entered for competition,
display or for any other purpose, or brought onto the
fairgrounds by any person shall be subject to the rules
and regulations prescribed by the Executive Committee
of the Exposition.
In no case shall the Exposition or any of its officers,
board, or directors, be held responsible for any loss,
damage, injuries, or death by diseases, theft or from any
other cause of any character, or any property while same
is on the fairgrounds, or any other time or place. The
management hereby assumes no responsibility either as bailee
or otherwise, for any property being brought and kept upon
said grounds. If the property owners, or others interested
in the property desire protection against loss, damage
or injury from fire, or from any other cause, they must
make their own arrangements and pay for such insurance.
NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED IN THE LIVESTOCK BARNS
OR EXHIBIT BUILDINGS.
Open Letter to Livestock Exhibitors
It is requested that all exhibitors clean their stalls and pens by 9 a.m. each
day and keep them in a clean and sanitary condition, and refuse be disposed
of as superintendent may direct.
If you have entries to make, attend to it; no entries or changes will be accepted
after 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 23, 2008.
It is your business to inquire from officer in charge in regard to exhibition,
anything you do not know. Accept no rumors or hearsay to prevent disappointment
or trouble.
No alcoholic beverages in livestock barns and exhibitor buildings. This will
be enforced! Lights out at 11:00 P.M. in the livestock barns. Livestock registration
papers will be checked on all livestock. Any animals without registration papers
will be ineligible to exhibit.
We hope our rules are just and reasonable. We realize we cannot have a fair
without exhibitors, nor can you exhibit without a fair. By cooperation, we
can make our fair a huge success.
Exhibitor Camping Area
The Expo Fair is offering to its exhibitors the right
of a camping space. We have made improvements in this division
and are offering 56 spaces for your convenience. Due to
increased demand for this service, reservations will be
honored only with payment in full for the week. 2005 rates
are $40.00 per week or $15.00 per day with air conditioner
unit, and $30.00 per week or $10.00 per day without air
conditioner. *SEE NOTE* If you want same space as last

Industrial Exhibitors
Outside exhibitors will be assigned their spaces as space
is available (Exhibitors who made cash deposits on space
at the close of the 2004 Fair will have first options on
locations. ) Signed contracts are a must for this division
as space is limited. Inside exhibitor space rents for $100.00
for the week and outside exhibit space rents for $100.00

Cart Registration
All golf carts must be registered in the Fair office.
Permits will be issued at no charge, but the permit must
be attached to the cart while being operated on the Fairgrounds.
